THIS is the VERY FIRST BLOG ENTRY on my NECTARIAN VISION BLOG~ and the first of MANY!
We (Vishaka and I ) embark on a fantastic Journey to foreign lands April 24th…with the desire to learn and spread our aloha and music far and wide. This will be our first time traveling internationally together, how exciting!! Our last travels off Hawaii island were last summer when we did a musical tour up the coast from California to Oregon. We are bringing with us a transportable music recording studio as well as a pretty decent video camera to to document it all…after this past year of steady service and working producing albums for people its time for us to spread our wings and take flight! First Destination: Bangkok, Thailand. We most likely be here for the month that our on arrival visa will allow, unless we can get an extension. Mark Twain (one of my father's favorite writers) said this about traveling: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.” He further added, “Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”
Yes, 'tis true, us gypsy hummingbirds have other landscapes and flowers to explore beyond our Puna vortex. Don't we all get so wrapped up in our daily routines and comfort zones? I've began my natural process of mental preparation, for being on the road, not having the comforts of my own bathroom and kitchen, abundance of clean and safe water to drink and swim in, all these things we tend to take for granted, and my own delicious organic meals that I so carefully prepare….Yep, thats all about to change, and for GOOD reason! We are ever evolving beings and we must heed the call of our higher selves, even if it seems daunting! Having Courage is a great way to become a more conscious being.
I have never been to Thailand before, nor to most of the other places we are envisioning to go: Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Australia, Borneo, India. We are also aiming to visit Java, Indonesia, to experience the majesty of the monumental stupa and world heritage site, Borobudur. We also plan on going to Europe: Sweden, Denmark, France, Germany, Austria, Greece and Turkey. We are currently reaching out to all our connections of family and friends out there that we could possibly visit. I feel that sharing our music in Europe is going to be really amazing as well as tuning into the native folk music of the countries that our own ancestors came from we will no doubt enrich our own musical inspiration. My music is already being heard and shared "out there," and I look forward to doing so in the flesh! We are envisioning India by October or November. We have no idea how long we will stay there for, we wish to see as much of the country as we can, by train and plane perhaps too. Music and Medicine are the focus of the mission for India and of course continuing to document the sights and sound of our journey.
And so it is unknown how long we will travel for and what amazing things will come of it~ As we travel we wish to support ourselves through continuing to share our music among other services.
Vishaka and I have launched a fundraising campaign to receive support to help us on our way, we had fun coming up with the perks that we offer for those who can contribute (pretty awesome perks too!) Its our first time doing this kind of thing but we figured anything could help and its for a good cause because ultimately it will be creating more love and beauty in the world!
